I knew that some sweaters are made of old plastic bottles but I did not know this...

something else about plastic water bottles:

Plastic single-serving bottles filled with water will no longer be sold in most places on Drake University's campus next fall after a successful student-led campaign to ban the convenient and popular items.

Hopefully banning of water bottles will spread to more places!

A similar initiative is also taking place at De La Salle University in Manila, the Philippines. It's called the Zero Styro initiative, initiated in 2008, and it aims to control and reduce the use of styrofoam, a type of plastic, within the campus, especially in relation to food packaging.

An interesting feature of this initiative is that it has been replicated in other campuses of De Salle University, such as Zobel and Benilde.

This video is really shocking.. That's why I have my own bottle - yes, it is out of plastic but I can reuse it as often as I want :) and usually I can refill it for free, which makes it even better!

Shore birds are just one group of animals we share the planet with that is dying from eating plastic used to make Coke and other bottles. And, not surprisingly, Coca-Cola is fighting legislation in Australia that will help fix the problem.
